What’s strange is that this isn’t strange in Japan; these guys are always in stock. Japan has a lot of “specialty fruits” on the shelves that are of probably the best quality you can find in the world, but that run for prices that will compel you to take a break from your shopping and grab your camera from you car. $12 mangos swaddled in little baskets like newborn babies are another common site. One thing I still can’t wrap my mind/stomach around is that you can literally buy whole pineapples here for cheaper prices than that of apples. What a world…
