Filipino Transportation

The transportation on the streets in Manila was some of the most interesting and diverse I have seen in the world.

The most uniquely Filipino transport: the Jeepney. After WWII the country had a surplus of American jeeps laying around, and no longer needing them for military purposes, they were colorfully painted and converted into what would become the most popular form of public transportation in Manila. Drivers take pride in their jeepney decorations, and it appears that no two jeepneys are alike.

Motorcycles and bikes with sidecars are also quite popular here.
