Yoshinoyama
Ancient temples and winding mountain roads abound in our little mountain town. People come all over Japan to see the beauty of the changing leaves and to visit the ancient temples hidden in these hills. The deer watch from a distance and the trees explode with yellow light.
momiji.
in the background, people walk through the oldest copper tori in Japan.
Many visitors are here to see a series of three special blue Buddha statues contained within this temple. They statues are enormous, maybe 60m tall, and are only able to be seen in autumn. They are quite powerful.
Nice photos. The fall colors are so lovely lately. The shrines/temples seem really cool too! Thanks for sharing 🙂
yes, the locals are saying that this has been a very fortunate year for viewing the autumn leaves. If the trees don’t get enough rain sometimes the leaves will wither and fall off of their branches quickly. Nice and vibrant this year though.
