Today in Tsukiji
I spoke with one of the fishermen in the market today and learned a few things I hadn’t known. Most interesting was of the lives of the fishermen themselves. They sail in teams of around 10 people and set out for journeys that can last 6-months all over the world. Indonesia, Phillipinnes, South America, and the US east coast were a few places he named. Sounds lonely, but I imagine these guys gain a sort of wisdom from living out on the sea.
